emotional manipulation and news

April 4th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Earlier today I watched about 20 minutes of fox news to watch the attorney general press conference regarding the 9/11 trials and I just have to say this…

I’m not a violent person but somebody really needs to slap the permanent expression off of Megyn Kelly’s face.

The expression being that of an adult telling a group of little children that their parents have just died or something equally tragic.  I had to turn the tv off because I couldn’t take it any more but .. for the entire time I did watch, not once did Megyn Kelly let go off that expression.

It’s really shocking how good the people over at FoxNews are at manipulating emotions in extremely subtle ways.

Also this was the headline on their website right after the event: “Obama Flip-Flop: 9/11 Suspects to Face Guantanamo Military Tribunal”

ps.. Hopefully someone far more intelligent and knowledgeable  than I can write an article worthy of the title of this one.

bluegrass banjo surprise

never thought I’d actually be recommending a banjo pickin’ song.
but this instrumental from Steve Martin’s (yes that steve martin) new album Rare Bird Alert is amazing.  It’s a very peaceful melody to listen to…

I’m not particularly a fan of the rest of the songs in the album but here they are anyway : Rare Bird Alert

the importance of insignificance..

It’s weird but I feel very good about the fact that I haven’t watched a single episode or even a clip of the Tonight show ever since Jay Leno took it back after the whole late night mess earlier in the year. And as much as I would like to think that I am going to watch Conan’s new show, I very much doubt that I will past the first episode. I’ll probably youtube or hulu the clips like I did when he was on late night. Sorry Coco, you get no ad revenue from me.

… just saw this gentleman flipping through the newspaper at a Starbucks. One of the headlines caught my glance which said “Obama: The Time for Peace is now”…. a headline I found more humorous than last night new comedy on NBC… Outsourced. Man that was a weak pilot.

the $1,000,000 phone jackass

If you have a million dollars to spare for a phone and you actually spend it on a phone then you either need to be put into an insane asylum or be put in jail for crimes against humanity. Either way, you should be locked up.
